Nordstrom Trunk Club Review

Nordstrom Trunk Club Review

A few weeks ago I shared my first trunk with those of you who watched my Instagram stories, if you don't follow me- you totally should! I will be doing try on sessions with my trunks as I receive them and my follow up trunk shipped today!

I wasn’t excited about this Floral Print Maxi Dress dress at all when my stylist Rylee chose it to replace an item I had denied due to the cost, however; when I slipped this bad boy on I immediately fell in love. I honestly don’t think I have ever put on a more comfortable dress in my life. It is an amazing jersey material with smocked waist line and fun high low hem with a triangular cutout at the neckline. As you can see from the photos the dress is a little big, it fits very loosely at the top and is too long for me (I’m barely 5’5”) The only thing I’m not crazy about when it comes to this dress is the bold pattern. It just isn’t me- I’ve asked my stylist to please keep her eyes open for something similar in a single color and I sure hope she finds it!

I told my stylist that I had been on the hunt for a great pair of distressed jeans and I was so excited to get these in and try them on. I loved these Destroyed & Patched Boyfriend Jeans, but I definitely need to try petite. They are meant to fit cropped with the cuff above the ankle- obviously that is not the case here. They are also a bit big around the waist (size 32) so I will try a 31 next time.

Ladies, I am trying soo hard to get over my disdain for shorts! So hard that I asked Rylee to send me a great pair of mom shorts and I even tried some on during my last shopping trip. These KUT from the Kloth denim shorts really are great! I love the fringe detail and the length is perfect, however; once again they are a bit big in the waist. I’m not sure that I would want to go down a size at this point in my weight loss journey because I wouldn’t want them to be too tight in the thigh area. I decided to send them back for now.

I really loved this CHELSEA28 off the shoulder top! The lace inset detail on the sleeve and the material was amazing. It was a little big for me and I was concerned with how sheer the material was. The top is also available in black and it currently 40% off- making it under $50!
I really loved these Halogen Skinny Pants (not online) but once again I need a petite. I absolutely loved the slit detail on the ankle, but it is suppose to fall right at the ankle instead of on my foot. Short girl problems!

Up next- the item I kept so that I could use my $25 styling fee! This Ruffle Front Top by Kut from the Kloth is the perfect summer top. I love love love this fun yellow color, the flowy ruffles and the knotted back. The material is so light and breezy, which makes it ideal for hot summer days! I was a little worried about finding a bra to wear with it- but a regular strapless bra has worked wonderfully.  It is also available in pink here (for under $41)

Two more shirts that I really liked but they were just a bit too big for me. This off the shoulder ruffle top is adorable, I love the embroidery on the ruffle- but I received an XL and it was much too loose on my chest. It is also available in another color option which you can see here.
I was a HUGE fan of this Mixed Media Top, it has a lightly textured crepe front and a knit back, which makes it both super comfortable and perfect to wear to the office. If it had fit better (see the hanging area in the arm pit- not cute) I totally would have kept it! If you're looking for a great summer essential this top is perfect- and it comes in five colors.

Now let’s talk about this adorable Embroidered Caftan! I loved it, the color, the embroidery, everything! It also comes in an ivory and black color combination which is great for those of you who aren’t huge fans of pink. The length is great for those of you who enjoy showing some leg, however; I am not one of those people and I didn’t think this dress would look very good over leggings so I decided to send it back.

Last but certainly not least,  I received these slip on sneakers, which I knew I would love- but unfortunately I couldn't invest $110 in shoes right now so I had to be extra picky, the only thing I could find wrong with these is that they were a little big.  They also come in white and a great blue color.

After receiving this trunk I had to update all my sizing for a better fit.  I requested an XL in tops and dresses to begin with but after this trunk I updated my top size to a large, dresses to a petite large and jeans and shorts to a 31 petite instead of a 32. I also updated my shoe size to a 9 instead of a 9.5.

My second Trunk Club trunk is on it's way and I am so excited for this one! If you haven't tried the Trunk Club yet I highly recommend that you do, I love that you get to chat with your stylist before they select your items and I like it even more that you get to view their selections and approve them before they ship. That is a feature I haven't found in any other subscription or styling service so far.
