June Stitch Fix Review & Tips For Getting Your Best Fix

June Stitch Fix Review

What is Stitch Fix

For those of you who don't know what Stitch Fix is, it is an online styling service that delivers hand picked clothing items right to your door. When you first sign up you fill out a Style Profile and a personal stylist will select items for you based on your taste, sizes, needs and budget. Every box includes five items of clothing, shoes and accessories for you to try on. Once you try them on you decide what you love and what you want to return, then you go through the check out process and pay for the items you want to keep and just package the rest into the prepaid USPS envelope and ship it back for free! The $20 styling fee that you pay when you schedule your Fix will be applied as credit toward any items you purchase, and if you buy all five items, you'll get 25% off the entire purchase! They allow you three days to try the items on and make your decisions.

What I like about Stitch Fix

Stitch Fix is a service designed for busy women who either don't have time to or don't enjoy shopping! It is also great for women who need a little help breaking out of of their comfort zone. I fit into both of these categories- I almost always have a six year old boy with me who isn't a fan of watching mom try things on for hours- and I've found that some of the things I have avoided or would have never tried on have become some of my favorite fashion items. I like to do a Fix each season so I will have some great high quality pieces to last me through.

It is FUN! I am always so excited to open up my box and find out what items the stylist has sent me! It's literally like Christmas, because you have no idea what you are getting!

The stylists are great! They really want you to love what you get and if you are specific about what you want or don't want- they will do their best to get that to you!

Tips for getting the most out of Stitch FIx

1.  Pinterest is your friend! They advise you to send a board to your stylist so they can get an even better understanding of your style. When you pin an item or outfit you love take it a step farther and edit the description to include what you love or don't love about the item. Keep this board updated so your stylist can see what you are into throughout the year.

2  Keep your stylist. Even if your first fix or two are misses, that means you are that much closer to the perfect fix. Your stylist learns more and more about you with each Fix.

3. Leave Notes to your Stylist. Before each Fix you will have the opportunity to leave notes for your stylist- DO THIS! Take this opportunity to let her know about anything you are hoping to receive, any special events you have coming up, or if there any trends you've been dying to try.

4. Always Leave Feedback. After you've received your Fix be sure to leave feedback at check out. Be specific and let your stylist know what you did and didn’t like about each item in your Fix. This helps your stylist pinpoint fit, style and budget for your next Fix. Also, when it comes to feedback it's important to note that BRUTAL HONESTY is the best policy. Your Stylist wants you to love your Fix, so be upfront with them- tell the why you hated that dress! You aren't going to hurt their feelings and even if you do, it's going to help you both out in the long run!

Now, let's take a look at my most recent Fix!

I asked Erika, my stylist, to include some trendy items mentioning my love for the off the shoulder and cold shoulder trend. I also let her know that I had been on the hunt for a pair of distressed white jeans and some great mom shorts. In the past I have felt like a lot of the items I've received have ran a little small so while I have lost weight I decided to keep my sizing the same. Bad decision on my part!

Q&A Thea Off the Shoulder Crochet Detail Dress

I literally gasped when I pulled this dress out of the box! I'm in love with this soft powder blue and the off the shoulder detail was perfect! As soon as I unfolded it though I knew it was going to be too big. I wanted this dress to work so badly, but in the end I just couldn't keep it.

Bobeau Sharon Knit Dress

Guys!! This dress is AMAZING! The jersey material is so comfortable and it is exactly my style. Cute and comfortable just how I like my dresses. I wanted to keep this dress so badly but with the fit being off I just couldn't pull the trigger. I did let my stylist know how much I loved it so maybe my next Fix will include something similar or by the same brand.

MAVI Lemore Off the Shoulder Top

This off the shoulder top was adorable, I loved the color the sleeves, the little cut out detail along the top and those adorable mini poms on the bottom. Another item I really liked but couldn't keep because it was too big.

Level 99 Jordana Cuffed Bermuda Shorts

You guys know I'm not a fan of shorts, but I keep trying to tell myself that I need a good pair for summer and vacation. Currently I am between sizes so this pair was still a bit tight on me and more than I could spend on something I can't see myself getting  a lot of use out of. However, if you wear shorts- these bermudas are the perfect mom shorts! The length is great- covers your booty but doesn't look goofy because they are just too long and I really loved the distressing on the legs. I would size up if you prefer a looser fit like me though.

Kut From The Kloth Kate Distressed Boyfriend Jean

The quality of these jeans is great, but I have yet to be able to figure out my sizing. I know I need a Petite because both pairs of the boyfriend jeans I have tried on in the past look plum goofy on me because they are just too long. With that said I think i would have fallen in love with these if the length worked for me. For reference I am barely under 5'5'' and as you can see they are way too long on me!

So while this fix may not have worked out for me even though I really loved most of the items- I have now updated my sizing and am feeling pretty darn good about my next Fix that should be arriving the end of this month! So stay tuned!
