If you're in North Carolina like me you've been blessed enough to experience a little taste of fall this week. The cooler temps have been a welcome change and has me even more ready for fall, It is my favorite season after all! One of the many reasons that I love fall so much is the clothes! I love wearing jeans, leggings, cardigans and booties! I also love the rich colors that are so prominent in stores this time of year like olive, mustard and burgundy. So, today I am going to be sharing some of my recent fall purchases as well as a few items on my wish list that I feel are must haves for the season.
This outfit will be a live in for me this fall, I'm already wearing this rib knit cardigan daily. This classic striped tee, brown cardigan, distressed jeans and booties. Perfect Fall Outfit!! If you love it as much as I do, you can shop this look below. The jeans I am wearing were from my most recent Stitch Fix box, if you haven't given them a try be sure to check out these posts.
Shop My Look
Now for my fall must haves, and of course everything linked in this post is under $100.
We all need a cardigan or two. They are perfect for layering and if you’re like me they are a necessity when it comes to dining out (I always freeze to death in restaurants) and a much needed layer for work (that office AC tho!)
Who doesn't love a good oversized sweater, they are both comfy and versatile. I love them as an option to pair with leggings!
My favorite oversized sweater purchase so far is this one, and right now it can be yours for less than $30!!
Military Inspired Jackets
This is a trend I am slightly obsessed with at the moment. I LOVE military green anyway so it makes me so happy to see so many military inspired jackets and vests to choose from. I have a military inspired vest on its way in my latest Nordstrom Trunk and I am super excited to try it out. I've included military inspired items in a variety of colors below. The burgundy peplum option is a unique take on the trend and super cute.
After my last blog post you ladies know how much I love a good handbag. If you missed it you can check out my top fall handbag choices here. I'm always happy to purchase a new hand bag and a new season is the perfect excuse in my book. I linked up some new options for you below in some great fall colors. I'm really loving the brown back pack options for fall.
Jeans are a year round must have for me, but I always like to stock up on a few extra pairs for fall. I especially want a pair of the step hem jeans to wear with booties.
Talk about a must have! Is it even possible to do fall without leggings? Maybe I'm just basic, but I wouldn't dare do fall without several pair ready and waiting on me!
Before I go any further I have something to say:
My name is Natasha and I have a bootie problem. Seriously, I'm obsessed with them. Nothing would make me happier than it being socially acceptable to wear booties year around!
My love for fall footwear began here, with tall boots. What better to pair with your leggings and skinny jeans? However, over the past two years designers have decided to remove the functioning zippers, which makes me really sad, and makes it really difficult for me to find tall boots I can fall in love with. Slip on boots are great and all, but who wants to struggle with a boot for ten minutes in the morning? Not this girl!! So, if you find any great affordable boots with REAL ZIPPERS- please share the wealth, for now here are my faves under $100.
Another season staple and definite must have is the tunic top/dress. The longer length make this a great option for both jeans and leggings, and I live in them during fall. If you're a working mom like me I highly suggest stocking up on a few of these, they can be dressed up for work and down for the pumpkin patch and can't be beat at under $28.
Is there anything out there that screams fall more than a plaid top? Well, maybe pumpkin spice but that's for a different must have list. My favorite plaid options are the longer shirts and tunics that will cover my bum bum so I can rock it with leggings!
So, are you ladies on top of the game or still thigh deep in shopping for your fall wardrobe like me? My kid had school clothes so I feel like a success even if I'm wearing summer duds into October.
Tell me ladies, what fall must have items are you shopping for right now and what purchases are you most excited to wear?
